Decorating 101, Issue #0018 --A Cozy Nest For Fall!
October 01, 2009
Hi There,

Fall Color Ideas for Your Own Comfy Nest

This rainy day has got me thinking about making my bedroom into a cozy nest for the winter. Nothing is more comforting after a hopelessly cloudy day of dashing puddles and shaking rain drops than tucking yourself in between a feather bed cover and a down comforter. Don’t forget the hot cup of chamomile and a great book!

Here are a few great new colors for this season that can start you off on the right track to creating your own comfy refuge.

I love a beautiful patchwork quilt because it creates so many different options for color.

This wall color makes a room feel warm and inviting.

This color is nice on doors, trim and possibly a furniture piece or two.

This color works well as an accent. A cluster of blue vases on a night stand looks lovely.

We enjoy our surroundings because of the immediate gratification we gain from our eyes. What we see seems the most obvious. However, when deciding what you do and don’t want in your bedroom, don’t neglect your other senses. Touch is so important when it comes to relaxing. Imagine your mental and physical response to the difference between a soft cushion that your exhausted body sinks into and a scratchy piece of fabric that offers nothing more than a pretty face. The choice is simple, right? Keep this in mind when choosing bed linens. Chances are you probably have already applied this principal to your pajamas!

Treat yourself with this down comforter. It is a must have for a hardworking woman who needs to be a tiny bit pampered now and again. This luxurious piece is brought to you by Pacific Coast Feather Company. Next time you visit a four star hotel check the linen tags. I did and was pleasantly surprised to find their name on the fabulously soft bedding! Extra Loft 300 Thread Count Down Comforter - King
