Connect With Customers Through Commercial Interior Design

Commercial interior design can be anything from decorating a salon to decorating a coffee shop and anything in between. Public spaces sometimes feel cold and sterile. It takes some time and thought to balance a professional look with a cozy style. It is important to make customers and clients feel welcome. The best way to do this is with warm colors and elements of home such as comfortable seating and hospitable lighting.

When you’re decorating your commercial space, put yourself in your customer’s shoes. Use all your senses. Don’t limit your experience to only what you see. Your customer will automatically use all of her senses the minute she walks in the door without even realizing it. It’s your job to create a fantastic experience! What do you smell? Hopefully it isn’t smelly sneakers! If it stinks, fix it! Better yet, make it smell good! Abercrombie is a good example of this. It always smells good in that store! In fact you don’t even have to go in to smell it! Now, this may be too smelly for you, but you get the idea. Music is also an important detail that will help reveal the image you are trying to create. This is often one of the most overlooked aspects of decorating. Soft subtle jazzy tunes will relax your guests and allow them to linger. Rock and roll will speed things up and create more of a lively environment. Taste is also important. People love food and drink! It never hurts to have a few treats available for customers to sample even if you don’t sell them! The best salon I’ve ever been to asks if you’d like to sip a beverage while waiting. Take a look at the spaces below to get a good grasp on pleasing your customer's aesthetic side.
