Interior Design Colors Inspired by Nature

Interior design colors and home decorating ideas from nature provide infinite possibilities. If you’re looking for that perfect color combination but aren’t sure where to begin, take a deep breath. Go outside for a walk. With no destination in mind you’ll be more aware of the beauty around you.

The warm oranges, yellows and pinks of a sunset can spark ideas for an intimate surroundings in a living room or sun room. Blues and grays so often seen in an ocean setting create a relaxing atmosphere when used in a bedroom. Nature has an impressive way of mingling colors together that just “work”. I can’t think of a time when I’ve seen something in a natural state and thought, “Ewwe those colors are nasty!” But I have wondered what in the world the neighbors a few blocks down were thinking when they spent two weeks painting their house royal blue with bright orange trim! See what I mean? Nature is a safe place to start if you’re uncomfortable choosing color schemes. You may find particular combinations that you don’t like as well as others, but you won’t have to worry about embarrassing yourself with a truly horrible mix.

Don’t know where to begin? Here are a few to get you started!
