Bare Foot Tropical Decorating
There are two ways to think decorating is this style. The first is on the beach of a desert island and the second is a lush tropical jungle. Each has distinct needs but in either event your needs can be easily met for lush living and a relaxing style. A quiet trickle or pounding surf These two sounds are quite different but they have one common element, water. Water needs to be a central element to the design. It might involve a fish tank for an apartment setting or a running stream in a jungle setting but some source of water should be involved. Even the management of the water can become a design and decorating element. If the site is in a lush area where rain happens daily it can be channeled to a desired effect. In a home or apartment small pumps can also perform this channeling. Barefoot It just would not be tropical if you couldn’t go barefoot. For this reason, texture and practicality become important with this style. Tile flooring is ideal for maintenance issues but a nice outdoor mat feeling can bring the tropical feel inside as well. Maintenance is also easy if considering a straw mat and a quick “shake out.” Tropical breeze Another must for tropical decorating is the allowances made for daytime and evening breezes that show up. Cross ventilation is always nice with some form of a light drape to fend off the occasional bug. If the tropical jungle is in play the breeze is even more important although the light drape is likely to change into bug netting in some form. Roof over your head When it comes right down to it the biggest thing about
tropical decorating
is that a good roof is over your head. From there any light decorating to mitigate high temperatures and humidity will do. If these two elements can be dealt with without air conditioning then the job is already half done.
